Doctor Anna Witkowska, (MD, Ph.D.) completed her training in cardiac surgery in March 2017 in the Department of Cardiac Surgery Central Clinical Hospital of the MSWiA in Warsaw. In April 2021 she completed her training in Balneology and Physical Medicine.
She was the local coordinator of Thoracoscopic Epicardial/Hybrid Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Registry (TehAFAR) conducted as a part of the EURObservational Research Programme by ESC. Since March 2016 she is a co-investigator in a randomized multicenter clinical trial comparing endoscopic epicardial ablation with percutaneous one CEASE-AF Trial. She took part in conceiving and coordination of the prospective registry of patients undergoing surgical minimally invasive left atrial appendage exclusion - THORACS-LAAO (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03838341). She was co-organizer of and lecturer at EACTS Academy MITACS which took place in the Department of Cardiac Surgery Central Clinical Hospital of the MSWiA in Warsaw in 2017. She was a reviewer for the 21st Annual Scientific Meeting of ISMICS and the 34th Annual Meeting of EACTS.
In June 2020 she took her Ph.D. degree at the Military Institute of Medicine in Warsaw. The thesis of her dissertation was “Evaluation of early and long-term results of surgical totally thoracoscopic ablation of lone atrial fibrillation”.
Since 2019 she is an academic lecturer at the Center of Postgraduate Medical Education in Warsaw.
She is an author and co-author of reviews in the field of surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation and coronary artery disease, and many abstracts presented and awarded at national and international medical conferences.
